Hepatology Research

Our hepatology research largely investigates the following conditions: liver cirrhosis, Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD).  We undertake a variety of research projects including both commercial and non-commercially sponsored NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) portfolio adopted studies.  These tend to look at genetics, new drug treatments and patient quality of life via observational questionnaire measures.  We do have experience of running our own home grown Trust sponsored hepatology research and are very interested in generating further new research projects with us actively seeking out opportunities to expand the area.
