Obstetrics & Gynaecology Research

Obstetrics & Gynaecology is the medical speciality that deals with maternity, childbirth and women's health.  Obs & Gynae research hosts one of the most diverse portfolios in the Trust with studies covering a very broad range of maternity and gynaecology related areas.

Our research looks at all areas of health care and support throughout the families from the start of pregnancy through to delivery.  This can include such areas as pain relief during delivery, maternal infections, emotional support interventions and management for conditions such as gestational diabetes.  As well as support for mothers after delivery including important areas such as postnatal depression and surgical recovery.

Our Women's Health research helps to support women throughout common or developing conditions this can include support during early pregnancy, gynaecological surgery, and conditions such as endometriosis or gynaecological cancers.  More information about our Trust's Women's Health Service is available here
