Orthopaedics Research
Our Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal (MSK) research forms part of the Portfolio of research that takes place within the Trust alongside our closely related Rheumatology Research. The key area our research focuses on is problems with the musculoskeletal structure and function resulting in surgical intervention.
Our research looks at improving surgical interventions and treatments for injuries and long term conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis. As well as Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy based support and recovery following such injuries and treatments. We have also looked at preventative measures such as home-based falls prevention in high risk groups.
We host research at our York, Bridlington and Scarborough Hospital sites as well as within local community and rehabilitation centres across North Yorkshire.
