Surgical Research
We have developed a varied portfolio of surgical research over the years particularly in areas such as colorectal, abdominal and vascular surgery. We often undertake research that involves interventions such as those looking at the reduction of inflection in surgery, invasive verses non-invasive surgical techniques, diagnostics to inform surgical pathway, and the management of bleeding during surgery. We do have experience of running both commercial and non-commercially sponsored studies and work with colleagues to support regionally generated studies. In addition to running NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) portfolio adopted studies, our surgeons are also keen to generate their own projects and we do have experience of successfully running these.
