MenSH-IBD

Stakeholder Advisory Group

  1. Purpose: To ensure the MenSH-IBD study is informed by people with experience of living with IBD, professionals who provide IBD care, and other stakeholders that have an interest in the research.

  1. Role: To act as a consultative body throughout all stages of the project, supporting the design, delivery, and evaluation. More specifically, the role will involve:
  • Advising on the conduct of the research.
  • Supporting development of the recruitment strategy to ensure the study includes diverse and under-represented groups.
  • Reviewing public facing materials.
  • Piloting surveys and interviews to ensure acceptability and suitability.
  • Advising on the content and application of the intervention that is developed in the study.
  • Promoting the study findings.

  1. Membership:
  • Approximately 8 members, drawn from the following groups:
    • Experts by experience including men living with IBD and partners of men who live with IBD.
    • Healthcare professionals with experience of working in IBD and/or sexual health.
    • Associated organisations for example Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
    • Organisations representative of minority and under-representative groups including BAME and LGBTQ+.
